For over two decades, I’ve helped people navigate complex workplace issues with clarity, compassion and purpose.  My roots in the rolling hills and open skies of rural Canada shape my values and approach.  Having lived and worked in both bustling cities and rural communities, I understand how context shapes conflict - and resolution.

Since 2021, I’ve focused exclusively on labour arbitration, mediation and workplace conflict resolution, in both the public and private sectors.   In 2023, I was added to the Collective Agreement Arbitration Bureau (CAAB) Register of Arbitrators in British Columbia - a recognition of impartiality, neutrality, and a broad, community-trusted skill set.  I’ve also been a mediator for the BC Human Rights Tribunal since 2022.  Whether I’m arbitrating a grievance, guiding a mediation, or conducting a workplace investigation, I bring a grounded, balanced approach rooted in fairness, respect, and real-world solutions.

Before launching my own practice, I spent over 20 years as legal counsel in labour, employment, and human rights law.  I graduated with a J.D. from the University of British Columbia in 1997, and worked in both private practice and in-house roles, representing clients in a wide range of legal settings I bring the unique combination of union and management-side experiences to foster relationships between diverse parties, and find effective, practical, and durable solutions for all parties to a dispute.  I am also informed by advocacy with workers' compensation, disability and accommodation, collective-bargaining (both union and management-side) and privacy law. I’ve also served as a supervisor, manager, and employer, experiences that give me insight into the real-world challenges organizations face.

I’ve coordinated legal services for a large labour organization, mentored staff, and served on several non-profit management boards. I bring a collaborative, capacity-building mindset to every role I take on.

I believe in outcomes that people can actually live with, not just legally sound, but human-centered.  Parties often tell me they feel heard, respected, and supported, even when the issues are tough.
